Sometimes simplicity can have it's beauty too. Well I am sure anyone can see things like these everyday in their lives. Like certain things do not need much glorifying to get the best out of it, and in this case now is the dish I am gonna tell you about. Just the other time when I dined out with my friends at Bangsa Village's Banquet restaurant (great place to dine btw). Apart from all the other great dishes we sampled, we ordered an appetizer, Sauteed Mushrooms. As simple as the name applies, it's just mushrooms being stir fried on a hot pan with butter and herbs. But my friends and I enjoy it a lot!
Not that I have not tasted sauteed mushrooms before, it's just that I have not cooked and eaten it for awhile now. So tasting it at the restaurant has a rekindling effect for me! Delish! Ever since then I kept telling myself why did I not cook this simple and yet delicious and healthy dish at home?! And lucky enough I saw these beauty Portabella Mushrooms selling at the wet market and I just couldn't resist cooking them tonight.
Ingredients for Sauteed Mushrooms:
1lb of fresh assorted mushrooms (I used portabella and white button)
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tbsp olive oil
2 gloves garlic, finely minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley (dried is fine too, but use only 1tsp)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Method:

1 tbsp butter

2 gloves garlic, finely minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley (dried is fine too, but use only 1tsp)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Method:
- Wipe away any dirt found on the mushrooms with a moist paper towel. Do not wash the mushrooms, it will absorb the tap water and loses it's original taste.
- Cut the mushrooms into bite size and set aside.
- In a hot saute pan, heat up butter and olive oil at medium fire.
- Add minced garlic, stir fry for 30 seconds, add mushrooms and making sure it spreads evenly on the pan where each mushrooms is in contact with the hot pan. Do not stir the mushrooms, let it cook for about 2 minutes.
- After one minute, start stirring in the salt and black pepper and fresh herbs. Cook for another 2 minutes and dish up. Serve when hot.
