Lunch in Ipoh

On our way to Penang, we stopped by for lunch @ Ipoh in these kopitiams call Thean Chun and Kong Heng which was highly recommended from a friend from Ipoh. After exiting from Highway, we have to find our way through the busy streets and loop around to find the place. Since it was a weekend, it was super crowded, it took us awhile before we can find a parking spot and waited 10 minutes for a table. :-P But guess what, it was worth it! Thanks June!!

If you see carefully, there are a lot of people standing around rather then seating down....'cos there's so many people waiting for tables. :-P

The dish that I like the most was the Kai-Si Hor Fun from Thean Chun. The broth was very flavorful and slight sweetness from the prawns and chicken boiled in it. Even my little ones love it. ;)

We also ordered their Chee Chong Fun, the dark sweet sauce and the belachan was very good too.

The Kang Kong & Sotong with Belachan was excellent too! The sotong has a certain texture as the Taiwanese always say "qu-qu", very nice.

The satay and poh piah was really good too. The pork satay was really tender and very flavorful (even without the peanut sauce). This plate of poh piah has no belachan over it, because I was seating with the kids, no chilli please, but it still taste great! ;)

Overall, a wonderful experience, would go there again when we pass by or visit Ipoh in the future. A round of applause for the yummy food! ;)
